I don't imagine cleats as "go quickly" gear....I think about them as safety gear. I've witnessed several people drop and fall guns or slip and slide donning hiking shoes when it would not come about if they ended up putting on cleats. the one time I'v noticed them be a downside was on stairs, platforms and so on that do not have carpet on them. vo
